Funeral directors you know

South Coast Funerals is proud to be owned and operated by local Fleurieu Peninsula residents.

Ken Altschwager and his family has been involved within the Funeral industry for many years.

For the last five years, Ken has provided outstanding support to Fleurieu families and is now joined by Karla Bradshaw, ensuring South Coast Funerals will remain your local Funeral Directors.

“I always knew I wanted to be a Funeral Director, so over many years I have moved from state to state learning from and working alongside some of the highest regarded Funeral Directors, before returning to my home state,” Karla said.

“For the last year I have been the Manager of another funeral home in Victor Harbor, but the draw back to a family funeral home is where I wanted to be.

“Ken and I are proud Funeral Directors and proud of our funeral home and staff.

“We believe that every funeral should be just as unique as the person it’s for.

“Whether your approach is completely original, more traditional, or somewhere in between we’ll help to honour the life of the person who has died.”

South Coast Funerals services are designed with unparalleled flexibility at their core.

They will work at your pace, listening to what’s important to you, whilst taking care of all the practicabilities with thoughtful care.

“Families appreciate our honest and human approach,” Karla said.

“We offer them time, attention and support every step of the way. This Is the one day you have to say goodbye, to celebrate a great life and to meet with family and friends to share feelings and give support.

“Caring for someone who has died is a real privilege and helping their family during this time is an honour.”

South Coast Funerals will be holding community information days throughout the year for people who wish to find out more about death and dying and your options.

“We will have guest speakers talking about Pre Arranged Funerals, Voluntary Assisted Dying, Body Donation Program and a lawyer who will provide information on the importance of having a Power of Attorney and Executor and their roles,” Ken said.

Karla also brings her knowledge and experience as a qualified counsellor. This allows regular Grief Support evenings throughout the year.

To keep informed about these offerings please contact South Coast Funerals and they will be happy to offer further information.
