In 2026 it is the 50th year of Probus, and the Yankalilla Men’s Probus club is celebrating.
Over the coming months at its general meetings there will be special guest speakers such as Senator Charlotte Walker, a resident of Normanville.
On Tuesday, February 3, members heard from Rob Kirk who said we are lucky to be here; the Earth is a wondrous thing.
Members this year will enjoy outings like Forktree Brewing for lunch and a train trip to Gawler, with the Ladies Probus joining the club for a meal at a local hotel there.
In May, there will be a boat ride out on the Murray from Goolwa on Captain Proud along with entertainment and lunch.
In October this year, on The Green at Normanville, a party will commemorate the 50 years and the public is welcome to join.
More details will be available closer to the event.
In the meantime, there is a special 50 per cent off the membership fee for new Men’s Probus members for this year.
The club’s next general meeting is on Tuesday, March 3 at the Yankalilla RSL Hall, 10am and you are welcome to come take a look – members will even give you a coffee and biscuit just for popping in.
