Crows name medal after Lynn

The Adelaide Football Club will show eternal gratitude for passionate supporter Lynn Drew, of Goolwa, in the naming of a medal in her honour.

Ms Drew loved her Crows; she was a foundation member of the women’s team, a long-time member of the men’s team, and an early member of the Adelaide Crows Fleurieu Supporter Group.

She joined Crows Forever, the club’s bequest program, in 2010, and sadly she passed away earlier this year.

Adelaide Football Club head of women’s football Phil Harper said the inaugural Lynn Drew Award would be presented to the member-voted Most Valuable Player at the AFLW Club Champion event next Friday.

The award will run in perpetuity in recognition of the outstanding contribution Ms Drew made to the AFLW team, both through her cheering at games and the substantial contribution she left to the AFLW team in her will.

“This award is a fantastic way to recognise Lynn’s contribution to the club and our AFLW team,” Mr Harper said.

He said the club was aware of the commitment Ms Drew made and was grateful to have known and thanked her for it.

“Over the years, Lynn would have met most of our players and coaches, either at Crows Forever functions or whilst calling in for a coffee and a chat here at the club, or at our games,” Mr Harper said.

“We are very grateful for Lynn’s support of our AFLW program since we started and whilst sadly she is no longer with us, she will always be remembered by this award.”
